Boysun, Dushanbe, Samarkand, Shahrisabz, Tajikistan, Tashkent, Uzbekistan

The 10 Days Through the Ancient Civilizations of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan Tour is one of our most distinctive journeys. Traverse the remote border and mountainous enclaves of Uzbekistan to connect with local villagers at a vast bazaar, gain an insider’s look at the intricate craft-making processes unique to the region, explore a canyon filled with caves, and visit a renowned mountain pass once used by some of the greatest conquerors in history. Discover the birthplace of Tamerlane, immerse yourself in the cultural wonders of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Dushanbe, and enjoy a rejuvenating day at Tajikistan’s Iskanderkul Lake.

While urban areas in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are rapidly modernizing, the region still preserves countless villages and remote communities where traditional lifestyles endure. Located near the charming town of Shakhrisabz (itself a worthwhile destination), Boysun is one such place, offering a rich collection of relics in a setting that maintains its authentic, timeless atmosphere. This serene, traditional locale provides a striking contrast to the bustling modern attractions of larger cities like Tashkent and Samarkand.
