I contacted Oybek Ostanov directly via WhatsApp-Chat and asked him if he could organize a short trip to a mountain village in Uzbekistan.

He planned for us a journey to Samarkand for a one-day city trip with a city guide and afterwards we visited the mountain village Gelan.

In Gelan we also had a local travel guide who went with us for hikes and showed us the mountain village.

Meet a Different Culture by Learning and Having Fun

We got in touch with DOCA Tours and Nodir thanks to the extremely positive experience brought back by some friends.

We were a group of six women and planned our trip with the fundamental help of Nodir, who was then with us for the duration of the eleven-day trip through Tashkent, Samarkand, Shahrisabz, Bukhara and Khiva.

At the first meeting at the airport, we were immediately struck by the incredible command of the Italian language and the great ability of empathy.
