The ascent to the peaks of the Agalyk Mountains has always epitomized the allure of mountainous landscapes – their captivating silhouette, vastness, and grandeur. Just 15 kilometers from Samarkand, picturesque Agalyk Mountains stretch in symbiosis with the eponymous settlement and the Agalyksay River, creating a unique landscape.
The average height of the mountain ridges reaches 400 meters, with Mount Kemkutan being the highest peak at 2178 meters.
Within the territory of the mountain range, one encounters peculiar rock formations, numerous streams and tributaries, blooming poppy fields, and the Devsharshar waterfall. Particularly astonishing is the location of this waterfall. It seems hidden from view, yet its presence is revealed by the sound of cascading water. Nestled within a small gorge, the waterfall stands at a height of 8 meters. Amidst rocks and stones, water forcefully carves its way to flow into a natural basin.
The Agalyk Mountains are situated at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level, meaning the air here possesses healing properties. Scientifically proven, mountain air has a beneficial effect on the respiratory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems. This mountain range is accessible to individual travelers who can set up camps and embark on ascents. Additionally, there are several sanatoriums located here, including specialized ones.
