Hello dear friends. We are in Samarkand, in a village which is 3-4 km away from the center
We will organize here Hashar tomorrow
All friends and relatives will gather to take part in the construction here
In this village, more than 95% of houses were built with mud and straw
What is our mission? We have already built 2 rooms here and we want to plaster the floor of both rooms with a thick layer.
We have the following building materials for this: earth and very simple straw.
The Uzbek people have been respectful of their customs and traditions, which have been passed down from generation to generation.
One such traditions is Hashar. Hashar reflects the national identity of the Uzbek people, the essence of which is the synthesis of prosperity, kindness and solidarity.

Hashar has existed in Uzbekistan for many centuries.
The term “Hashar”, which is available in Tajik and Turkish languages, had different meanings in different epochs.
In the Middle Ages, this term meant the obligation to work for the construction of larger buildings, irrigation channels, countermeasures, and hunting in the areas of Iran and Central Asia.
The “Great Fergana Canal” was built in 1940 using the general Haschar method.
It is a very large irrigation canal that lies in the areas of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Around 160,000 people were employed to build the canal.
It was dug within the 45 days. 18 million m3 of earth, stone, sand and clay were removed manually using only hoes and shovels.
Thanks to the construction of the “Great Fergana Canal” together with the “Southern” and “Northern Fergana Canal” (built-in 1940-1941), the extent of irrigation in the Fergana Valley had grown significantly.
Thank you very much for your attention.
